Junior Football League 2020

I get what you're saying but the leagues were different when Forkhill made their jump up the divisions. They won Junior A in 2013 and got promoted to senior a year later. In the current set up that wouldn't be possible with the intermediate divisions now split. Also, they were denied a crack at winning the junior championship despite not having won it. The same goes for the intermediate the following year. They found themselves playing senior championship in 2015 even though they weren't able to win the junior 2 years beforehand. I don't like that system. Championships mean a lot to clubs and I've no doubt that a lot of the lads involved with Forkhill at the time would swap climbing the divisions for a championship medal, whether it be junior or intermediate. Yes, they managed to play a couple of years in division 1 but the only medal they have from that time is the Junior A league.
Annaghmore won a Junior championship in 2013 but they hadn't been in the bottom division of the league for years before that. The issue there is that they had been allowed to re grade in 2010 as they were a division 3 team.
So do you want teams to go back to scenarios like Tullysaran being in division 2 but still playing junior championship or Culloville being division 1 but playing in the intermediate championship?

Tullysaran were division 2, got relegated, and lost in the first round of the championship against a division 4 team.
The Cullaville situation was a rare example as they had blown a few great opportunities in previous seasons. A simple solution would have been no div 1 teams allowed in intermediate or below, no div 2 allowed in junior. In the current situation teams are playing about 6/8 less league games per year than back then, and championship is nowhere near as intense until the knock out stages.

First round predictions
Belleek v Newtown - Belleek to go top of the table this evening with an easy home win
Dorsey v Lissummon - dorsey to edge it by 2/3 points
Forkhill v Cross II - Forkhill to put down a marker for championship and win by 4/5 points
Mullabrack v Corrinshego - corrinshego will have too much for Mullabrack and win by 8/10
Derrynoose v Killeavy II - Killeavy will put it up to derrynoose but the home side to win by 10+ in the end
Clady v Éire og - Éire Óg to run out easy winners

Killeavy should contact derrynoose and tell them who it was so they can get their players tested if marking him if it is true that it was a seconds player that tested positive for covid 19

By the sounds of the statement on contact tracing, the appropriate action seems to have been taken

This weeks predictions
Belleek v Forkhill - Forkhill to shade it by 2
St. Michaels v Clady - going to go for a Newtown win here, will be close but Newtown have regrouped.
O’Hanlons v Derrynoose - if O’Hanlons are to repeat the heroics of their championship win over derrynoose in 2018 they will need everything to go in their favour tonight. Derrynoose will not take them lightly ever again and should win comfortably here.
Crossmaglen v Corrinshego - handy win for cross to get their season on track
Killeavy v dorsey - off due to covid but would have fancied dorsey here.
Éire Óg v mullabrack - a positive performance from Mullabrack last week will have them raring to go but Éire Óg will have too much for them if they can find the shooting boots that were absent last week against clady
