Should we start to pay our county players lads to keep them in the Country? Get a wee survey up there someone.
Nope absolutely not. It's a race to the bottom.

Should they be properly remunerated for their efforts? Of course and they should be allowed private sponsorships/s.

Once payments start then the biggest get bigger by attracting the best and the weaker/poorer counties lose even more. Pride in the jersey diminishes and it just becomes another sport. Clubs begin to close as they're not sustainable and the country becomes full of great building sites for private developers and Linfield and Glentoran contest the Ulster Final 8 years in a row.

Rugby went that way at grass roots and now the local club games are poorly attended and badly funded

The massive extortion of supporters also has to be tackled. I get that grounds need maintained and insurance needs paid, but there's a serious amount of money being collected and reportedly spent on clubs and grass roots. Really? How many of us hear on a regular basis that our clubs are desperate for a cash injection? Where is the money going? Why the need for so many high paid executives in Dublin if this really is an association for the members, for all. A place where we belong? - A great streamline, but I belong at home and I never get refused entry when I turn up at home.

Ok so maybe we should have a separate thread for this!!

Caolan mcconville from Killeavy was being looked at by Mcgeeney. Not sure he’s good enough to make the side though.
