Would it not be more pertinent to worry about what IS happening now rather than what likely will happen later. Sure it's fine to speculate and this fixation might be a talking point, but it goes in circles. Jamie is a free spirit and like commenting on what MIGHT happen with management when the season is over, it's pointless right now. Jamie knows what he has to do this weekend and I'm sure that's what he is concentrated on. I'm going on holiday in October. Still have to go to work tomorrow.

Some light conversation Big Jim, don't take yourself as serious big fella
Ah now don't be worrying yourself so you shouldn't. I'm not in the least bit serious so I'm not. Just trying to keep everyone focused on the job in hand. Sure didn't I say it was fine to speculate so I did!. ;)

Soupy to come out and play round the middle as another half forward using his running game that worked so well against Cavan

O Oneill wont be starting the game hasn't played a game for Armagh all year unrealistic to throw him in, his time will come next season or later in the season if we hopefully win. Dont think much difference in the 2 sides Monaghan been there and done it but maybe past their best? If everyone can click and it will be a victory if we dont Monghan will have to much quality. Everyone needs to ready to go, hopefully defence can get on top this week cant afford to carry 1 player. Have faith

I expect us to win on Saturday with a couple of points to spare, that's if we turn up and play the correct brand of football. If we get the match-ups right and go at Monaghan we will beat them. This is the most vulnerable Monaghan have been in years, if we cannot beat them then the realisation sinks in that we are, in fact, not a top 10 team.

Why would you think we are currently a top 10 team? We finished 5th in Division 2 in the league, this would indicate that performances to date put us as 13th. Admittedly if things had gone differently in a couple of games we could have been promoted leaving us as Top 10, but they didn't.
I am not dismissing the squad, management or their efforts & certainly want us to be back among the top 10 & would hope to see us in that bracket next season, maybe a run in the qualifiers will see us closer to achieving this goal but I think you're slightly overstating our position at this point as Top 10.
I am the very 1st person to see the positives in everything relating to our county team but we still have lots to work on to achieve the consistency required for Top 10.

Don’t be fooled. Tyrone seemed vulnerable last year. Should have been put out in Round 1 by Meath. Scraped through and got to the AI final. Monaghan are capable of matching their own run of last year too.

That’s not to say we can’t win. Of course we can. But Monaghan aren’t just going to roll over giggling while we tickle their bellies.

Dont see how you could have Hall or Grugan on the field instead on Nugent..Hall and Grugan are both misdiagnosed footballers.

I am just going by some of the comments made on these threads over the past year or two. Some people seem to think that we are this magical team. Saturday will give us a good indication to where this group of players/management is at.

I also feel there is too many players that are simply not good enough for this level on the team, which makes it harder for some of the more talented players on the team. For example, if Jamie Clarke is doubled man marked surly this would free up space for another player to step up. Usually if one/two of our so called big players are well marked then we find it hard to come up with scores, ultimately leading to a poor performance/defeat.

You need Hall playing for his workrate in the side.. Has he had a better year than Nugent in my opinion yes. Grugan is a player who makes things tick in the side i find it hard to leave him out with his ability he is a match winner and we need them on the pitch

I'm not sure anyone on here has described us as a "magical team"!! I think we all have aspirations as to where we want this team to be but the majority acknowledge where we actually are at present. I don't believe Saturday's match, irrespective of the result will change our current standing. However IF we did win I do think it would be a huge boost to confidence & morale for the squad & management going forward & the supporters would also be fairly happy :)

You have given yourself plenty of scope there for excuses if we don’t win haven’t you
