The winner of the preliminary round should get home advantage

Is there a link anywhere detailing the All Ireland championship structure?
Not much time for lads to recover from little knocks and definitely tough going. I know if I was playing though I’d much prefer lots of games though as weeks and weeks of training. So, if we progress to an Ulster final, we’ll have to play 4 games.
Win or lose Ulster final, we’ll be in the group stage. 3 more matches. Finish 2nd or 3rd, a preliminary QF match. Then a QF, semi, final.
That’s potentially 11 matches. That’s a lot of matches in a condensed calendar.
The new format will realistically only suit the bigger counties with big squads and resources. We seen with the super eights the lesser counties with smaller squads, were out of their depth when it came to tough matches week on week.
You’re doing Cavan a big disservice there imo although we really should be beating them, they’re a solid mid to higher end division 2 team realistically and have done a lot more in Ulster the past 10 years than us! Also a team we tend to struggle against. I agree with the rest thoughThe draw could have been done by Carlsberg.
It could be argued that defeat to Antrim would be shameful but it’s not a debate we need to have. We won’t lose to Antrim. End of.
We really should be beating Cavan. Just read elsewhere that we are at the same level as Cavan. Not on planet earth we are not. We have the quality to beat them.
If Down beat Donegal it will probably say more about Donegal than Down. Down don’t have the players right now. They are a lesser proposition than Cavan. We should be beating them.
Whether we can beat Donegal or not depends a lot on what Donegal we face. They are a mess right now but surely they can rouse themselves for the championship? If you were playing them tomorrow they are there for the taking but in a months time things could be different.
Ultimately I would think that the team that comes through the other side of the draw will be raging hot favourites for the decider.
Seems unlikely that we won’t make the group stages. But if we want do to anything there then he we need to lay down a serious marker in games against the like of Antrim, Cavan and Down. These teams would have taken a pasting in Division 1 and it fools nobody to talk them up.
Agree with a lot of that but not in relation to Cavan. I hope you are correct but I think you are underestimating them. The draw could have been done by Carlsberg.
