I suppose we are where we are but having just watched the mediocre fare served up by Cork and Louth I can't help thinking how cruel the draw was for the div 1 teams.

Monaghan beaten by referee, apparently. He gave Mayo a penalty but refused one for the Farney men in the last minutes.
So Monaghan beaten but not outclassed, which might be our fate.
On the positive side, both home teams won this evening, let's hope this trend continues

While the penalty wasn’t stonewall , I’ve seen them given for less. I watched the games today including a bit of Offaly v N York and I was less than impressed with the standard , Mayo look in deep trouble up front as well .

On our own game tomorrow I’ve more hope than expectation , if anyone if familiar with the ‘GAA Catfish ‘ we are a bit like Cora O Donovan in big games we promise a lot but don’t turn up .Hopefully tomorrow will be different.

While also people have every right to comment on the team selection I think I’d I was a player mentioned about not being good enough and read my own support writing me off before the throw in it wouldn’t fill me with confidence.

Anyway let’s see what tomorrow brings .

I think the Mayo penalty was correct. Monaghan had 2 shouts. The first for a foot block I feel the referee got right. The other falls into the category ' I have seen them given '. Not clear cut but you would be disappointed not to get it.

Good luck to our team and management against our mighty enemy later today. We have been very quiet and are big underdogs - which suits us - so you just never know. We are certainly a dangerous opponent for Tyrone - hopefully we can give them one hell of a game!!!
