They should have put it on in Croke Park.
Clones is a monumental shit hole.

He couldn't mention it eitherDon't mention that to Ivan Little
Yes, but it’s our shit hole (well, Ulster’s).They should have put it on in Croke Park.

The one way in and out depends on the teams playing. If Armagh played Cavan or Fermanagh there then people would be approaching from different directions. In Casement, you could easily have the same problem with everyone approaching from the Lisburn side.Crossans article in the Irish News last week perfectly optimised the current situation with Clones.
One way in and out, with the long tailbacks. Clocked last week that traffic started 8km from the town centre and moved at a snails pace (this was 2 hours before throw in). And then the town itself has ran itself into the ground. The stadium hasn’t changed from the noughties where cubicles for toilets are in complete darkness etc. Donal Ogs piece on the Sunday game last night was brilliant. The GAA as a whole need to wake themselves up and move the association along in line with the times.
Ulsters in dire need of a fully purposed ‘modern’ stadium can can hold large crowds. Connacht have castlebar, Munster have cork, and obviously Leinster have Croke Park. Bar the AG, when was the last time an Ulster ground has got any significant upgrade ie increased capacity, new stand..?
Sooner the casement redevelopment is done the better IMO. Infrastructure is there, just off the motorway, good train/bus services from around the province. In the meantime, for large ulster games the GAA should be looking to accommodate as many gaels as possible and the only way they can do this is to have ulster finals in croke park.
the huge white elephant that's being proposed would not meet the demandHave to agree with this, provincial winners should be the only seeded teams and the rest based on league positions. Also so disheartening and frustrating looking at two half empty stadiums with seats galore, knowing that there are countless Armagh and Derry fans who want to attend Ulster final to support their county but cannot because Ulster has no fit for purpose stadium.

I think now we can all tell what teams will be bottom of their groups. Sligo is a great county and on the rise and play the right way but they will get whopped in all games. Clare have been division 2 for years but I'd still say Monaghan and even Donegal should beat them, league standings are the only way to go imo you will still get mismatches because a top team in div 1 is well ahead of bottom of div 2. But it's better for Sligo to develop in tailitan cup, getting a beating 4 games in a row won't help themLeague ranking is a deceptively poor measure for quality. Now that Clare have jumped back into Sam from Tailteann, they could very well progress from their group ahead of Donegal. And Sligo vs Kildare in Markievicz Park isn’t exactly a foregone conclusion, who knows which Kildare team will show up. I don’t think we can say that neither team has a right to be in the competition just because they aren’t close to two of the best teams in the country, when they might not even be among the first teams to be eliminated.
Down played division 3 and beat Donegal, so you'd think Clare would also have a great chanceI think now we can all tell what teams will be bottom of their groups. People shouldn't be missing out because a stadium isn’t fit for purpose. No it should be kept in Clones
Is it though? Looking like a lot of people will miss out on a ticket at the minute!wise up, taking the ulster final out of clones in the mid noughties was a load of crap. the atmosphere wasn't the same. I would agree clones needs a revamp as it has not changed one bit ever from what I know of. Where in ulster is fit to take the crowd? simple answer right now, clones.
If everyone got a ticket, nobody would ever get a break from their other halves. Is it though? Looking like a lot of people will miss out on a ticket at the minute!
